Tyson Fury, the 37-year-old former world champion in the heavyweight division, has confirmed his intentions to return to professional boxing. His first comeback fight will take place on April 11 in the UK, where he will face Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Fury paused his career a year ago after two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, but he has now decided to return. According to reports, the "Gypsy King" plans to have three fights this year and is currently in a training camp in Thailand.
This bout will be his first on home soil since 2022, when he won against Derek Chisora. The fight will be broadcast on the Netflix platform.
Fury's opponent, 36-year-old Makhmudov, is a Russian boxer who fights in Canada. He has a record of 21 wins in 23 bouts, 19 of which ended in knockout. In his last fight, he won against British boxer Dave Allen by unanimous decision.
Fury's return has sparked interest in potential big fights in the heavyweight division, including a possible matchup with Anthony Joshua or WBO champion Fabio Wardley.
