In Miami, USA, on the night of December 20, an important heavyweight bout took place, in which Anthony Joshua (29–4, 25 KOs), the former world champion, achieved victory over Jake Paul (12–2, 7 KOs) by knockout.
The Florida State Athletic Commission decided to temporarily suspend both boxers from competition due to concerns about their health and potential injuries. The most serious damage was sustained by Paul, who suffered a broken jaw.
Immediately after the fight, Jake headed to a medical facility, spitting blood. The commission has not yet announced the exact duration of the suspensions for both athletes; however, it is likely that Paul may be barred from competing for three months.
This was Joshua's first fight since September 2024, when he suffered a heavy defeat to Daniel Dubois in a title bout. Paul, for his part, ended his six-fight winning streak that had lasted since February 2022.
