Arthur Saparbekov took 94th place at the Winter Olympics in Italy

Arthur Saparbekov, representing Kyrgyzstan, participated in the Winter Olympics for the first time, which is taking place in Italy.

The cross-country skiing sprint competition began on February 10, with 94 athletes participating.

In the qualifying round, Saparbekov started under number 91. He completed the first 800 meters in 2 minutes 23.8 seconds and finished the distance with a total time of 4 minutes 36.85 seconds, which allowed him to take 94th place.

Out of 94 athletes, the top 30 were able to advance to the quarterfinals. The leader of the qualification was Norwegian Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who showed a time of 3 minutes 7.37 seconds, while the Kyrgyz athlete lagged behind by 1 minute 29.48 seconds.

Arthur Saparbekov's next start is scheduled for February 13, where he will participate in the 10-kilometer freestyle race.
