At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Education, Innovative Development, Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs on January 19, Deputy Bolot Saginayev drew attention to the current condition of the Sports Palace in Bishkek.

Saginayev, addressing the Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports Kazbek Moldazhiyev, noted that many sports complexes are currently undergoing repairs. He added that events have already been planned for the entire year at the renovated "Zhashtyk-Arena," including both concerts and sporting events.

"Many facilities are being repaired, but our Sports Palace remains neglected. There is also an Olympic swimming pool there. If the Palace could finance itself, it could repair the pool, open a bathhouse, and arrange a football field. This is a central place in the city, but its condition leaves much to be desired," the deputy noted.

In response, Moldazhiyev reported that there is already an instruction from the president regarding the Sports Palace. "During the opening of the 'Zhashtyk-Arena,' President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich instructed to carry out repairs and reconstruction of the Sports Palace in a similar style. The status of the Palace will remain the same. The head of state tasked the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, with finding funding for the repairs. This issue has already been included in the plans, and I hope that we will start work this year — very soon," he said.
