On January 19, Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev announced the Ministry of Culture's readiness to collaborate with private film studios. This statement was made at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to science, education, innovation, information technology, culture, sports, and youth affairs.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the ministry's report on the state of national cinematography.

Deputy Bolot Saginayev proposed to develop film production within the framework of public-private partnerships, noting that private studios play a key role in the development of Kyrgyz cinema.

According to Tagaev, two pilot commercial projects are currently planned, one of which is expected to be released in mid-2026. A special account will be created for the implementation of these films. "Currently, we have 80 private film studios, and we are ready to support them if their projects meet our criteria. Previously, only a few directors had the opportunity to present their ideas," he added.

Saginayev also mentioned that the total budget for these projects will be approximately 1 billion soms. He proposed to allocate half of this amount to state studios and direct the remaining part to private ones to ensure the possibility of return on investment. "Your report on the films made includes many private projects," the deputy noted.

In response to this statement, the Director of the Cinematography Department Talantbek Tolobekov assured that this issue would be taken into account in future work.
