The Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee that the Ministry of Culture plans to significantly reduce the production of documentary films.

According to Tagaev, documentary films are often created in honor of anniversaries, such as the 100th or 90th birthdays of certain individuals, and large sums are spent on their realization.

“The National Council has decided to reduce the number of such films. Previously, we created programs and films dedicated to anniversaries, such as 100 or 90 years,” he added.

The deputy minister also noted that there are plans to create a documentary film dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. “Previously, making films in honor of the 60th or 70th birthdays of people who are still alive cost millions. We will no longer do this,” he concluded.
