The Ministry of Culture has announced the creation of a draft law that will regulate the actions of bloggers. This information was confirmed by the department's press service, as reported by Kaktus.media.

Recently, a letter from Deputy Minister Marat Tagaev appeared on social media, in which he responds to a request from one of the delegates of the People's Kurultai. The delegate raised the issue of the need to hold bloggers accountable for spreading content that negatively affects teenagers. In Tagaev's response, it is stated that the ministry is already working on the draft law. It includes a provision that bloggers with more than 10,000 subscribers will be required to pay taxes on advertising income.

The ministry clarified that the draft law will cover not only the advertising activities of bloggers but also other aspects of their work.

“Paying taxes on advertising is just one aspect of the draft law. The question of which bloggers this law will apply to—those with 10, 20, or 30 thousand subscribers—is still being discussed with the State Tax Service. Overall, the document will regulate the activities of bloggers. It is in the development stage, and as soon as it is ready, we will provide it for public discussion,” the Ministry of Culture explained.

It is expected that the draft law will be available for discussion in April or May of this year.

We remind you that last spring it became known that the Ministry of Culture is actively working on a draft law for bloggers.
