In Kyrgyzstan, a tax obligation may be introduced for bloggers with more than 10,000 subscribers. This information was published on social media by journalist Elaman Karymshakov, who referred to a response letter from the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev to one of the participants of the kurultai. In his post, he also shared a screenshot of this letter.

The letter states that the Ministry of Culture is currently working on a draft law titled "On Bloggers." According to this document, it is proposed to introduce state control over the activities of bloggers. In particular, it mentions the possibility of taxing those bloggers who have more than 10,000 subscribers.

However, the press service of the ministry clarified to the source 24.kg that the draft law is still in the process of being refined. "At this moment, it cannot be definitively stated at what number of subscribers the tax obligation will begin. Therefore, it is premature to talk about 10,000. It is expected that by March, the draft law will be completed and presented for public discussion," the press service added.
