The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services commented on the situation regarding the "Altai" town project being built on the outskirts of Bishkek.

Initially, photos appeared on social media showing the excavations filled with water.

The ministry noted that necessary engineering and geological studies were conducted before the construction began, which allowed for the determination of the groundwater level. All required engineering solutions are included in the project.

“The project includes a drainage system for the removal of underground water and limits the height of buildings to five stories, which is important for construction safety. The "Altai" town will be a low-rise residential complex,” the Ministry added.

“There is full compliance with seismic safety issues that were reviewed by the relevant state departments under the Ministry of Construction. For this reason, additional approval from the Institute of Seismology is not required,” the ministry clarified.

Thus, the information voiced by Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov was deemed incorrect, and the ministry urged the public not to panic and not to mislead people.

The construction of the "Altai" town is being carried out over an area of 234 hectares. It is planned to build 1,551 five-story buildings, totaling 34,004 apartments of various types. The total construction area will exceed 1 million 7 thousand square meters. The project is being implemented by the construction company "Kut," which offered clients apartments without a down payment and in installments. All 34 thousand apartments were sold out in just a few days. On November 20, President Sadyr Japarov laid a capsule in the foundation of the new town.
