The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia commented on the incident involving a police officer that became a topic of discussion on social media.
In an official statement, the agency referred to a video showing a police officer pushing a citizen, after which the individual ends up on the roadway.
As clarified by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the day of the incident, police officers were ensuring safe passage related to the transportation of a suspect in a serious crime under guard. At that time, one of the passersby ignored the lawful demand of the police officer and attempted to cross the road.
According to the ministry, during the attempt to remove the man from the roadway, he lost his balance and fell. One of the witnesses to the incident immediately came to his aid and escorted him to a safe place.
The agency also urged citizens to maintain public order and comply with the lawful demands of police officers to ensure safety.
