The budget for the film industry has significantly increased, contributing to a rise in the number of films and series.
At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on science, education, innovative development, information technology, culture, sports, and youth affairs, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev presented a report on the achievements of national cinematography for 2025.
As Tagaev noted, funding for the sector increased from 345 million soms in 2024 to over 970 million soms in 2025. Throughout the year, the Department of Cinematography processed over 4,000 documents, confirming the active work of the ministry in supporting film production.
As part of state financial support in 2025, 4 films and 1 series were created with the help of the Department, 48 films and 2 animated features at the National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm," as well as 7 series and 1 historical project with the participation of the creative association "Kyrgyzserial."
Additionally, in 2025, the modernization of the material and technical base was carried out: 16 million soms were allocated for the major repairs of film studios, and about 192 million soms for the purchase of specialized equipment. This allowed for improved conditions for the production and screening of high-quality cinema.
