At the meeting of the Committee on Education, Science, and Culture of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 19, Deputy Minister Marat Tagaev announced the Ministry of Culture's plans to implement a mandatory requirement for film distributors: all foreign films must be shown with subtitles in the Kyrgyz language.

Additionally, it became known at the meeting that the institution "Kyrgyzfilm" will be liquidated. Tagaev noted that changes will be made to the regulatory legal acts concerning the film industry, and artistic requirements will be reviewed. One of the key changes will be the mandatory presence of Kyrgyz subtitles for foreign films, which, according to the official, may cause dissatisfaction among some distributors.

The Deputy Minister added: "We are preparing all the necessary documents. Changes will be made soon, and of course, we expect that some of you may express dissatisfaction and come with complaints. However, we are counting on your support," Tagaev said during the discussion.
