Amazon, one of the leading online retailers in the world, has announced its intention to cut about 16,000 jobs in addition to the layoffs already carried out in October. In the company's official statement, it says: "Today's reductions will affect approximately 16,000 positions at Amazon, and we are doing everything we can to support everyone impacted by these changes."

According to information provided by Reuters last October, Amazon plans to implement the largest layoffs in the last three years, affecting up to 30,000 corporate employees. Shortly after, the company confirmed the layoff of 14,000 employees in corporate positions. The following month, Reuters reported on an upcoming second round of layoffs, which would also affect approximately the same number of workers.

Currently, Amazon operates not only in the USA but also in countries such as Canada, China, Brazil, Japan, and European states. The online store Amazon.com was founded in July 1995.
