At least ten people killed in shooting at Canadian school

In British Columbia, in the city of Tumbler Ridge, a mass shooting occurred, resulting in the official report of ten fatalities, including the suspected shooter. More than 25 people were injured, according to Reuters.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the bodies of six victims were found in a high school, while two others died in a nearby residential building that may be connected to the incident. One of the injured died en route to the hospital.

The suspected shooter was also found dead; preliminary data suggests that he may have taken his own life. The police stated that they do not believe the shooter had accomplices and assured that there is no longer a threat to the public.

During the active operation to apprehend the suspect, information was circulated that the shooter could have been a woman with chestnut hair, dressed in a dress.

Police Superintendent Ken Floyd stated at a press conference that upon their arrival at the scene, numerous injured and deceased individuals were found. He added that the area is already under control, and investigators are working to determine the details of the incident and the type of weapon used in the shooting.

Regional authorities expressed condolences to the families of the victims. British Columbia's Minister of Public Safety, Nina Krieger, stated that the government is ready to provide law enforcement with the necessary support.
