In an interview with RIA Novosti, Igor Morgulov, the Russian ambassador to China, reported a significant reduction in the supply of Chinese cars to Russia by 44% by the end of 2025.
He also noted that according to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, trade turnover between China and Russia decreased by 6.9% compared to 2024, amounting to 228.105 billion dollars.
The ambassador emphasized that imports from China to Russia fell by just over 10%, which many experts had anticipated, considering the saturation of the Russian market with certain categories of Chinese goods.
“For example, in 2025, there is a decrease in car supplies by 44%, whereas in previous years this segment showed rapid growth,” Morgulov added.
