At the Munich Security Conference on February 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the United States should pressure Russia to expedite the end of the conflict. He made this statement in a conversation with journalists, including representatives from Politico.

Zelensky urged U.S. President Donald Trump to call on Vladimir Putin to cease hostilities and to offer Ukraine reliable security guarantees and support for post-war recovery.

He added: "Call Putin and say: 'You must stop where you are.' We need to freeze the conflict now and then hold trilateral negotiations for a peaceful resolution of the situation."

According to the Ukrainian leader, Ukraine has already made a number of compromises, including the lack of serious consequences for the Russian leadership.

Zelensky also noted the age difference between himself and Putin, pointing out that he is 48 years old, while the Russian president is 73, and the latter has "not much time left."
