
As a result of an avalanche in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley, located in northern Italy, three people have died, according to a representative of the local rescue service, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to rescuers, the group, presumably consisting of two men and one woman, was from France. The avalanche occurred in the Courmayeur area, where helicopters, dog handlers, and rescue teams were dispatched to assist.
According to the mountain rescue service, one of the deceased was found at the scene, another died in Aosta, and the third in a hospital in Turin.
Additionally, another avalanche occurred in the region, which blocked the road near the town of Rem-Nord-Dame the day before, trapping 250 people. They were evacuated to safe locations, including with the help of helicopters.
