According to MiddleAsianNews, on Sunday, representatives of the Chinese embassy stated that the arrested Mongolian citizen, who is in Iba, has no connection to the government of the People's Republic of China.
“According to our information, this individual has no ties to China,” noted the statement from the deputy press secretary of the embassy.
Furthermore, the official urged not to rush to conclusions while the investigation is ongoing, adding that “preliminary judgments in this case are erroneous and contradict the principles of objectivity.”
The authorities of the Philippines have begun the process of deporting the Mongolian citizen.
According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the suspect is a pilot of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force and has undergone training at the Air Force Aviation University of the PLA.

Currently, the foreign citizen is in custody at the Bureau of Immigration detention center while the investigation continues.
