Prime Minister of Denmark: Early parliamentary elections will be held in the country in March

According to the Constitution, elections must be held no later than October 31, however, they are scheduled for March 24, which is six months earlier than the established deadline.

“These elections will be crucial, as over the next four years we, as Danes and Europeans, will have to rely solely on our own strength,” noted Frederiksen, emphasizing the need to define relations with the USA and strengthen the national army.

The complicated relationship between Denmark and the United States has worsened since the beginning of Donald Trump's second presidential term, during which he expressed the opinion that the USA should have control over Greenland in the interest of national security.

Bloomberg emphasizes that “by initiating elections seven months before the end of the constitutional term, Frederiksen is likely ensuring herself the opportunity to remain in the position of Prime Minister for another term.”
