As reported by Variety, the award was presented to Jim Carrey by director Michel Gondry, with whom the actor collaborated in 2004 on the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

During the ceremony, Jim delivered a speech in French, although his accent was noticeable.

In his address, Carrey drew a parallel between acting and the work of a sculptor.

He said, "Every character for an actor is like clay that you shape as you see fit. I am fortunate to share this art with those who have opened their hearts to me."

Additionally, the actor mentioned his roots, noting that his ancestor Marc-François Carrey was from Saint-Malo in France and later emigrated to Canada. According to Carrey, receiving this award was a symbolic "closing of the circle" for him.

In conclusion of his speech, he expressed gratitude to his loved ones: his daughter Jane, grandson Jackson, and his partner Mina, as well as his father Percy Joseph Carrey.

He emphasized, "Thank you to the funniest person I ever knew — my father, who taught me to love, to be generous, and to laugh."
