Kazakhstan and TurkPA discussed reforms and inter-parliamentary cooperation

During the meeting, Ramil Hasan noted the support for the constitutional reforms currently being implemented in Kazakhstan, emphasizing that they are significant not only for the country but for the entire Turkic world. He also announced TurkPA's intention to participate in monitoring the upcoming constitutional referendum, which will take place in three cities: Astana, Almaty, and Turkestan.

The Secretary General shared information about the recent visit of the TurkPA delegation to Vienna, which took place during the 25th winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. He mentioned meetings with national delegations from Turkic countries and the successful submission of an application for observer status at the OSCE PA.

Aigul Kuspan, in turn, spoke about the planned changes in the new parliamentary system of Kazakhstan, expressing confidence that they would enhance the accountability and efficiency of the parliament.

She also supported the participation of TurkPA and representatives of member countries as international observers in the constitutional reform process, noting that their presence would contribute to ensuring transparency and openness.

Additionally, issues regarding the completion of work on improving the legal documents of TurkPA during Kazakhstan's presidency were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of the informal meeting of the heads of parliaments of TurkPA member states, scheduled for April in Istanbul.
