Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made a statement addressed to the leaders of neighboring countries.

He emphasized: "Your Majesties, presidents of friendly neighboring states, we have used diplomatic means to prevent conflict; however, the aggression from the USA and Israel has left us with only one option — to defend ourselves. We respect your independence and believe that stability and security in our region can only be achieved through joint efforts," he wrote on his social media page.

On February 28, Israel and the USA conducted airstrikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced his intention to eliminate the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began attacks on the territories of Israel and other countries in the Middle East where American military bases are located. Strikes were carried out against Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai (UAE), and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the American-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, also died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that military actions in Iran are planned to last about four weeks. A jihad against the USA and Israel has been declared in Iran, with an emphasis that there will be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East is affecting the situation worldwide, including in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Contact information for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
