On the morning of February 28, the Israeli Air Force, in coordination with the United States, carried out strikes against Iran. President Donald Trump confirmed plans to destroy the nuclear developments of the Islamic Republic.

In response to these actions, Iran began striking strategic targets in Israel and other countries in the Middle East where American military bases are located. Strikes were carried out against Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the joint attack by the US and Israel, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. His wife, Mansoureh Khojasteh, died from injuries sustained in the attacks.

Trump stated that military operations in Iran would last about four weeks. A jihad against the US and Israel has been declared in Iran, with a clear refusal to engage in negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East is affecting the international situation, including Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. A list of phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
