The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, expressed support for the agreement on a complete ceasefire in the Middle East, which was reached with the mediation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Asim Munir. This was reported by the president's press secretary, Aibek Smadiyarov.
According to the report, this agreement became possible thanks to the wisdom and goodwill of U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the top leadership of Iran and all countries involved in the conflict.
Tokayev expressed hope that the achieved ceasefire would be long-lasting, contributing to the development of global trade and the economic well-being of all countries.
Earlier, Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would suspend bombings of Iran for a period of two weeks, provided that the Strait of Hormuz is opened immediately. This decision, according to the president, was the result of his negotiations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chief of the Army.
Trump noted that military objectives had been achieved and progress had been made towards a final peace agreement with Iran and in the Middle East. He also mentioned Iran's ten-point proposal, which he believes could serve as a basis for further negotiations.
Iranian authorities confirmed their agreement to the ceasefire. A statement from Iran's Supreme National Security Council was published by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on his social media page.
In Iran's address, ten points were listed that the U.S. allegedly agreed to:
- Commitment to non-aggression;
- Maintaining Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz;
- Agreement on uranium enrichment;
- Cancellation of all primary sanctions;
- Cancellation of all secondary sanctions;
- Termination of all UN Security Council resolutions;
- Termination of all IAEA Board of Governors resolutions;
- Compensation payment to Iran;
- Withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region;
- Ending the war on all fronts, including the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
