During his visit to China, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia, Damdinnyam Gongor, held a meeting with the leadership of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation).
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of increasing fuel supply volumes, ensuring their stability, and developing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
Gongor noted that Mongolia is striving for sustainable fulfillment of its domestic fuel needs. CNPC representatives shared their plans for maintaining stable supplies to the Mongolian market and how they intend to enhance the efficiency of these supplies, as well as expressed their readiness for further cooperation.
As of today, Mongolia is entirely dependent on fuel imports, with 95% coming from Russia and 5% from China. During the visit, the parties agreed on the necessity to increase the volumes of gasoline and petroleum product imports from China.
