In January 2026, Mongolia welcomed 21,066 tourists, indicating a stable interest in winter travel. This also reflects the growing trends in winter tourism. This month, the largest number of visitors came from Russia, as well as from China, South Korea, Germany, Japan, and Kazakhstan.
The summer period of 2025 marked the peak of the tourist season. However, the beginning of 2026, with over 20,000 tourists, demonstrates the results of successful initiatives aimed at developing winter tourism. Winter festivals, cultural events, and unique nature excursions significantly contribute to promoting Mongolia as a year-round tourist destination.
