The doctor explained how TV shows and social media at night affect sleep

Sleep doctor Karima Magomedova, in an interview with RIA Novosti, noted that the use of electronic devices and watching content before bedtime can negatively impact sleep quality. This leads to emotional arousal, making it difficult to fall asleep, and also causes sleep fragmentation.

She explained that the blue light emitted by gadgets suppresses the production of melatonin — a hormone that plays a crucial role in regulating sleep and wakefulness. As a result, interaction with content only enhances emotional and cognitive activity, which also complicates the process of falling asleep.

Magomedova recommends creating favorable conditions for sleep by refraining from information overload, limiting time spent consuming content, and avoiding excessive communication before bedtime.
