
According to data presented by the National Statistics Committee, in the IV quarter of 2025, there was an increase in the volume of cash in circulation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as an increase in both cash inflows and outflows through the cash desks of commercial banks.
As of January 1, 2026, the total amount of cash in circulation was 300 billion 778.3 million soms. Of this amount, 36 billion 166.7 million soms were held in bank cash desks, while 264 billion 611.6 million soms were outside the banking system. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of cash increased by 51 billion 822.1 million soms, which corresponds to a growth of 24.4 percent.
In the IV quarter of 2025, commercial banks received 1 trillion 680 billion 175.6 million soms in their cash desks, which is 264 billion 920.6 million soms, or 18.7 percent, more than in the IV quarter of 2024.
At the same time, during the reporting quarter, 1 trillion 692 billion 591.4 million soms were issued from bank cash desks, exceeding the figures of the IV quarter of 2024 by 271 billion 568.5 million soms, or 19.1 percent.
The cash return rate to the cash desks of commercial banks at the end of the IV quarter of 2025 reached 99.3 percent, which is 0.3 percentage points lower than in the same period last year.
Overall, the results of the analysis of cash circulation in the republic indicate an increase in the volume of cash operations and a high degree of return of funds to the banking system.
