Total control over alcohol and timber is being introduced in Kyrgyzstan

This month, there is a clear trend towards increased digital control in the trade sector, alongside the introduction of significant relaxations for exporters. A key innovation in logistics will be the mandatory use of electronic navigation seals, which will be used from February 11 to track the transportation of alcohol and tobacco, recording the route of goods during their import and export within the EAEU. Additionally, a pilot project aimed at monitoring the supply of timber from Russia to Kyrgyzstan started on February 1, which should enhance transparency in the construction materials market.

As for entrepreneurs operating in external markets, the government has offered a unique tax concession: the single tax rate for activities outside Kyrgyzstan has been reduced from 1% to 0.1%, representing a tenfold decrease. At the same time, the Ministry of Economy is conducting a "revision" in the field of professional services until February 18, collecting data to update the state register of appraisers and appraisal organizations.

Ordinary citizens have not been overlooked either. Owners of passenger taxis have been granted a temporary concession: the Ministry of Internal Affairs has extended the mandatory licensing period for transportation until July 1, 2026. Meanwhile, in the financial sector, a conservative approach remains: the National Bank has extended restrictions on currency exchange operations until August 1 of this year to ensure stability in the domestic monetary market.
