Kyrgyz citizens flew to South Korea for work

They were employed under the EPS program

As part of the intergovernmental employment permit system (EPS), the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan announced the departure of a new group of workers to South Korea.

On February 3, 16 citizens of Kyrgyzstan flew to Seoul after successfully completing a specialized training course.

Since its launch 18 years ago, this program has facilitated the employment of over 5,000 Kyrgyz citizens in the Korean manufacturing industry.

Currently, about 1,500 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are working in South Korea under this program, engaged in the production of plastics, chemicals, and food products. The average salary for such workers is $1,700, and employers provide assistance with housing issues. However, the mandatory requirement for a sufficient level of Korean language proficiency remains a significant barrier for those wishing to participate in the program.
