During the session of the Jogorku Kenesh, the draft law concerning amendments to the Law on "Renewable Energy Sources" was discussed in the second reading. Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov presented this document.

Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova asked about the current level of electricity deficit in the country.

Altynbek Rysbekov reported that by the end of 2025, a deficit of 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours is expected.

He added that this deficit will be covered through electricity imports.

This year, contracts for electricity imports from neighboring countries are planned to address the issue, as well as the implementation of a program for the introduction of renewable energy sources.

In response to Mavlyanova's inquiry about the cost of one kilowatt-hour of imported electricity, the ministry representative declined to provide the information, citing the need to maintain state secrecy. Altynbek Rysbekov promised to provide the information to the deputy in a private conversation.
