At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev shared information about the government's actions aimed at regulating prices for socially significant goods.

Amangeldiev noted that the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, is carrying out the necessary measures to achieve this goal.

“With the support of the deputies, amendments were made to the Tax Code, which granted the Cabinet of Ministers the right to regulate prices. Within the framework of the new powers, we abolished import customs duties, provided certain benefits, and introduced VAT exemptions. The post-pandemic period has been the most difficult, as the inflation rate reached double-digit figures. However, thanks to the measures taken, we managed to stabilize prices, and this work continues,” he emphasized.

He also added that state regulation of meat prices is currently ongoing, market monitoring is being conducted, and appropriate measures are being taken.

“In addition, measures to curb inflation are being implemented in cooperation with the National Bank. Last year, the inflation rate was 9.2%, and this year our task is to prevent it from exceeding 8%,” concluded Amangeldiev.
