The minister outlined plans to improve the processing and packaging of beans
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Bakyt Torobaev shared information about the future sale of beans.
He noted that the price of beans on the international market has dropped from $1,600 to $930 per ton.
“We are engaged in the collection and sorting of beans, but in other countries, they additionally apply fumigation and packaging. We also need to implement this. Furthermore, we plan to introduce beans into the diet of schoolchildren and soldiers as an important source of protein,” the minister added.
Due to the fact that the calibration of seeds has decreased to levels of 5-6, he emphasized the need to update the seed material. The minister also noted that the optimal calibration of beans should be at least 8-9.
