According to the information from the department, there is a registry of seed producers and a subsidy mechanism in the country, which is part of state support. Every year, 50 million soms are allocated for these purposes, allowing farmers to purchase seeds at a discount of up to 30%.
In 2024, 2,794 farmers were able to obtain 4.5 thousand tons of seeds.
Additionally, the export potential is increasing. Shipments of alfalfa seeds to Russia and pumpkin seeds to Japan have begun. Since 2003, Kyrgyzstan has been a member of the International Seed Testing Association, and in 2025, the country's central laboratory underwent its fifth accreditation.
The Minister of Agriculture, Bakyt Torobaev, noted that the global seed market shows consistent growth. He added that in Kyrgyzstan, the industry is developing due to the implementation of modern technologies, scientific approaches, and the creation of integrated structures with financial support from the state.
