City dwellers and residents of rural areas will have the opportunity to participate more actively in the development of their communities
In the Kyrgyz Republic, it is planned to create funds to support local community initiatives in five cities and rural districts.
The Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with several non-profit organizations, such as the Public Fund "Civic Participation," the Center "Interbilim Osh," and "Youth of Osh."
The parties are joining efforts to implement a pilot project aimed at creating funds to support local initiatives in the specified five cities and rural areas.
The main objective of the project is to provide residents with the opportunity to participate more actively in decision-making regarding the local budget, support their initiatives, and receive the necessary assistance to implement significant projects for the community.
The Ministry will provide methodological and consulting support to local authorities, while partner organizations will conduct training, informational activities, and accompany initiative groups at all stages of the funds' operations.
As stated in the announcement, "this project contributes to strengthening the role of local communities in managing budgetary funds, increases the transparency of resource distribution, and creates conditions for the effective operation of funds across the country."
