Kyrgyzstan not only fully meets its own needs for beef and lamb but can also achieve a sustainable surplus in this sector. This was reported by Uran Chekyrbaev, head of the food security department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, during a live broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol" on the news agency "Kabar."
He noted that the main competitive advantage of Kyrgyz meat lies in its ecological purity.
“High-altitude pastures, where traditional grazing is practiced, provide products of exceptional quality, which are in constant high demand from neighboring countries, and they occupy a significant share in their markets,” Chekyrbaev added.
According to unofficial information, about 50% of the meat in Uzbek markets comes from Kyrgyzstan. “Because of this, the Uzbek side has shown interest in lifting restrictions on the import of live cattle,” he emphasized.
