In Kyrgyzstan, an active information campaign has begun aimed at preventing violations of phytosanitary norms during the export of goods. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic is holding meetings with participants in foreign economic activity (FEA) in various territorial departments of the Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine Department.
These meetings focus on the necessity of providing accurate and reliable addresses of cargo recipients in the destination countries. The agency emphasizes that this measure is aimed at combating the practice of providing false information in phytosanitary certificates.
Strict sanctions are imposed on exporters who violate these requirements. If the authorized body of the destination country records two notifications of inaccurate data within one year, the supplier will be denied the issuance of a phytosanitary certificate. The certification ban will be in effect for 60 calendar days, which effectively means a temporary suspension of export activities.
Department specialists emphasize that strict compliance with documentation rules plays a key role in maintaining trust from international partners and ensures free access for Kyrgyz agricultural products to foreign markets. Exporters are advised to carefully verify information about their counterparties before submitting certification applications to avoid financial losses and reputational risks.
