The deputy asks the government to help farmers affected by the natural disaster in the Talas region

The damage from the mudflows exceeded 55 million soms, yet assistance to the victims has not been provided.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Jumabekov urged Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev to pay attention to the situation of farmers in the Aitmatov district of the Talas region who were affected by the natural disaster.

According to him, on July 28, 2025, mudflows occurred in the territory of the Sheker rural administration, destroying crops in four villages: Sheker, Kok-Sai, Kainar, and Archagul. As a result, over 700 hectares of land planted with beans and wheat were completely destroyed.

Following these events, the civil protection commission prepared a report that documented the damage amounting to 55 million soms and classified the situation as a natural disaster. However, as Jumabekov pointed out, this document has still not been implemented, and farmers have not received the necessary assistance.

The deputy also noted that many of the affected individuals lease land from the state fund, continuing to pay high rent despite the complete loss of their harvest. According to Jumabekov, local residents remain unaware of the further developments in the situation and are waiting for support from the government.
