- At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, Deputy Ulan Primov inquired about the number of states with which Kyrgyzstan has ratified investment agreements.

Damirbek Bikulov, Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency under the President, reported that more than 20 such agreements have been signed.

Deputy Ismanali Joroev asked about the volume of investments that have come from Italy to Kyrgyzstan.

In response, Bikulov stated that in 2023, the volume of Italian investments amounted to $700,000, in 2024 — $1.9 million, and for the first nine months of 2025 — $2 million.

The deputy also asked which specific sectors these investments are directed towards.

“Are there citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Italy who have created their own businesses, thereby investing in this country?” he added.

The Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency replied that there are small investors, for example, those who have opened small coffee shops in Italy.

He also mentioned that work is currently underway on the issue of exporting products from Kyrgyzstan.

These questions were raised during the discussion of the draft Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Italian Republic on the Promotion and Protection of Investments,” signed on May 30, 2025, in Astana and initiated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers (incoming No. 6-8/26 dated January 12, 2026), which will be considered in the first reading.
