The Committee on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic reviewed and approved in the first reading the draft law "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Italian Republic on the Promotion and Protection of Investments," signed on May 30, 2025, in Astana.

According to the explanatory note to the draft law, this agreement aims to strengthen economic cooperation and create safer conditions for investors from both countries. The agreement is a framework one, establishing general guarantees and principles, rather than addressing specific projects.

The text of the agreement was agreed upon by the relevant committees of the Jogorku Kenesh in 2024 and received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers. The document emphasizes that ratification will not require additional costs from the republican budget and will not lead to negative consequences in social, environmental, or legal aspects. It is also noted that changes to other regulatory acts will not be necessary.
