The Council will be given the opportunity to participate in the development of regulatory acts concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
On January 20, the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh held a discussion and approved in the second reading the draft law aimed at regulating the work of the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities under the Cabinet.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev initiated this document. As reported by the committee chairman Kurmankul Zulushov, the draft law was previously sent for revision and returned for re-examination in the second reading.
The main task of the document is to strengthen the role of the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities in protecting citizens' rights. It proposes to formalize the Council's activities and grant it the right to participate in the legislative process when creating draft regulatory acts concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
During the discussion, it was decided to change the title of the draft law: it will now be called "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On Regulatory Legal Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic'."
