- The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry urges citizens to strictly adhere to water legislation when using groundwater for drinking and other needs. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

According to information from the ministry, the Land and Water Control Service reminded that before drilling a well, it is necessary to obtain a license and conclude a licensing agreement with the State Geological Service, as well as prepare a project and undergo an environmental assessment. After the well is put into operation, owners must keep track of the volume of extracted water using water measuring devices and pay the "royalty" tax.

The royalty rate is 15 tyiyns per cubic meter of drinking water and 10 tyiyns per cubic meter of technical water.

The ministry noted that for drilling a well up to 30 meters deep for a private residential house using technical water, no documentation is required. However, if the water is used for commercial purposes, such as baths, restaurants, or car washes, all established requirements must be strictly followed.

Violations of water legislation entail administrative liability. The fines for individuals range from 1,000 to 20,000 soms, while for legal entities, the fine can range from 13,000 to 65,000 soms. Additional penalties for damages caused may also be imposed.
