According to Habertürk, on January 23, Sayyora Ergashalieva stopped communicating with her relatives. The police established that she was last seen entering an apartment building, where Durdona Hakimova was later murdered. Law enforcement checked surveillance camera footage and saw that on that day, Ergashalieva entered the building, and soon joined her the suspects in the murder — men from Uzbekistan D.A.U.T. (31 years old) and G.A.K. (29 years old).
According to information, both women and the men had been living in the same apartment for a month. It is also reported that Sayyora had a close relationship with one of the suspects — G.A.K.
Surveillance cameras recorded how on January 24, the suspects left the house several times with black garbage bags and then left the building with a white suitcase. According to the police, they called a taxi and went to the Fatih district, where they disposed of the contents of the suitcase in a trash container, and then walked to the Marmaray metro station — Yenikapı.
During the interrogation of the suspects, it was revealed that on January 23, in the apartment where Hakimova was killed, Sayyora Ergashalieva was also murdered with a sharp object. After that, her body was dismembered and thrown into trash containers in various districts of Istanbul, as reported by Habertürk.
On January 24, a decapitated body of a woman was found in a trash container in Şişli. Fingerprints confirmed that it was 37-year-old Uzbek Durdona Hakimova. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported that two suspects in Hakimova's murder were detained while attempting to leave Turkey and fly to Georgia. This brutal crime has sparked a wave of protests in Istanbul and Ankara.
