- On the air of Aalaydar radio, Slem Uulu, head of the project implementation department of OJSC "Chakan HPP," noted that interest in electric vehicles is growing in Kyrgyzstan, which aligns with the global trend of increasing their production.

According to him, in recent years, the production volumes of electric vehicles worldwide have increased by 2-3 times, and similar changes are observed in the republic.

“The main advantage of electric vehicles is their lower operating costs — electricity is cheaper than traditional fuels such as gasoline and petroleum products,” he emphasized.

Slem Uulu also highlighted the environmental benefits. He noted that electricity is a cleaner energy source, and the development of electric transport helps reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Moreover, he pointed out the significant hydropower potential of Kyrgyzstan, which allows the country to fully meet its electricity needs and reduce dependence on fuel imports.

“We are capable of producing electricity independently and using it for transportation needs. This is a matter of our energy security,” he added.
