Kerimaliev emphasized that to address the problem of pasture degradation, it is necessary to focus on increasing livestock productivity. Specialists believe that increasing the share of highly productive breeding stock can reduce the load on pastures by 5%. This implies keeping fewer but more productive animals, both meat and dairy breeds, which is more efficient from both an economic and ecological standpoint.
To achieve this goal, high-quality breeding seeds of breeds such as Aberdeen Angus, Simmental, and Swedish breeds have been imported into the country. These seeds have been distributed among farmers with the help of veterinary and technical specialists, and consulting support is provided as part of the breeding livestock development program.
An analysis of the growth and productivity indicators of the new breeds will be conducted after the autumn season, which will allow for the assessment of the project's effectiveness.
The ministry emphasizes that the development of breeding livestock is a strategically important step for preserving pastures and enhancing the economic sustainability of agriculture.
