The main source of electricity continues to be hydroelectric power plants. In 2025, generation at HPPs reached 13 billion 358.3 million kWh, which is 418.4 million kWh more than in 2024 (12 billion 939.8 million kWh), representing a growth of 3.2%.
At the same time, a more pronounced growth is observed at thermal power plants (TPPs): generation increased from 1 billion 771.7 million kWh in 2024 to 2 billion 28.6 million kWh in 2025, which constitutes a growth of 114.5%.
However, in 2025, a decrease in thermal energy generation was also noted, which amounted to 2 million 846.6 thousand Gcal, lower than the level of 2024 (3 million 30.2 thousand Gcal). The physical volume index was 93.9%.
