The minister noted that compared to the previous year, 2024, consumption increased by 1 billion kWh. As a result, a deficit of 3.9 billion kWh arose, which is covered by importing electricity from neighboring countries. Akunbekov emphasized that this deficit is temporary and manageable.
He also reported that in 2024, the installed generation capacity was increased by 117.8 MW. In 2025, the capacity growth was achieved through the replacement of hydro units at the Toktogul and Uch-Kurgan hydropower plants.
In addition, an important achievement of 2025 was the acquisition by energy companies of 215 units of equipment for a total of 754 million soms, which was financed through the companies' own resources.
