Jaramazan should not turn into begging: Bishkek City Hall urges parents to pay attention to children's safety

During the meeting, measures to tighten control over the presence of teenagers in public places without adult supervision during evening and night hours were discussed. Attention was also drawn to conducting explanatory activities for children and their parents, as well as the responsibility of catering establishments where minors may be present and engage in begging.

The deputy mayor noted that monitoring of cafes and restaurants will be intensified. In case of identifying instances of minors being allowed into such establishments, measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation.

“Recently, there has been an increase in cases where children engage in jaramazan, visit entertainment venues, and are found on the roadway, which poses a danger to their lives. There are also instances where children ask to transfer money via QR code. We must respect our traditions and cultural heritage, but jaramazan cannot turn into begging. It is necessary to care for the safety of children, so we urge parents to keep an eye on them and not leave them unattended,” emphasized Victoria Mozgacheva.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to organize joint raids involving juvenile affairs inspections and patrol service staff to enhance control.

Bishkek City Hall emphasizes that all measures taken are aimed at protecting the rights and safety of children and urges parents to closely monitor the whereabouts of their children during evening and night hours.
