On February 27, a meeting dedicated to the prevention of offenses among youth was held at the Bishkek City Hall, chaired by Deputy Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva. Representatives from various institutions participated in the meeting.
According to information provided by the city hall, the meeting addressed issues related to monitoring teenagers who are in public places in the evening and at night without adult supervision. Measures for conducting explanatory activities for children and their parents were also discussed, as well as the responsibility of cafes and restaurants that allow minors to beg.
Additionally, attention was drawn to the need for inspections of establishments, and in case of violations, measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
“There is an increase in cases where children participate in the celebration of Jaramazan while being in entertainment venues or on the streets, which puts their safety at risk. There are also recorded cases where they ask for money transfers via QR code. While we value our traditions and cultural heritage, it is important that Jaramazan does not turn into begging. We urge parents to closely monitor where their children are and not leave them unattended,” said Victoria Mozgacheva.
As a result of the meeting, instructions were given to the akimats to organize joint raids involving juvenile inspection and patrol services.
The Bishkek City Hall emphasizes that all efforts are aimed at protecting the rights, health, and safety of children, and calls on parents to be attentive to their children's whereabouts in the evening and at night.
