"Smart" meters helped Kyrgyzstan reduce technical electricity losses by 10.6%, - Cabinet of Ministers

At the republican meeting held on February 27 at "Yntymak Ordo," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov reported significant progress in the installation of "smart" electric meters. Currently, 500,000 such devices have been installed, and by the end of 2025, it is planned that their total number will reach 923,107.

According to Akunbekov, the implementation of digitalization and technical measures has reduced the level of technical losses in electrical networks to 10.6%, which corresponds to 152.6 million kWh. This achievement has brought an economic benefit of 373.9 million soms.
